Pastor's Notes Praise Him, the Lord is good! I have
three years of service in the Lord as of May 25, 2008. I am blessed to come to you in the month of May to tell you of some wonderful blessings and to lay upon your heart an urgent church need. This has been
an overwhelming month with so much growth in the church it's been hard to keep up with it all at times - but as I said, the Lord is good, and he keeps me in the faith and shows me the miracles that secure it
every day. Last month we were able to open our computer lab for only $200 that purchased a total of 6 computers fully loaded and ready to go ( photos here). Soon the lab will be open weekly for the kids in our neighborhood to be able to come in and
use them freely (right now this is limited until we get the kid-safe Internet software on there so we can be sure their surfing experience is safe for little eyes). This is such a blessing to these kids'
lives and we feel so blessed to be able to provide this educational encouragement in these young people with your help and God's grace. This
month tithes and offerings have been way, way down, assumedly due to the tough economy. With the recent expenses we've taken on with the new facility, we have an urgent financial need that we are bringing
before God and to you, as we are at a critical juncture in the continuation of this ministry and we need your support
. Know that we bless it, and we pass it on. If you read April's Special Reading, you'll also know that with what measure you
give, you also recieve blessings and abundance in many ways. This ministry has been growing at a rate that is truly amazing and the lives and hearts of congregation members, as well as
people across the world have been touched by what God's brought forth; for this reason, we know He will provide what is needed. Along those lines, this month I'd like to share with you a letter received
recently from a Crossroads WCC supporter (below) who wishes to tell you a bit about what she's seen and what seeds you will be helping to sow when you contribute to this ministry. I look
forward to updating you further in June, and in the meantime, know that you are in our hearts and prayers, and we ask that you keep the church and our leaders, faithful and congregation members in yours,
also. May God richly bless you and yours always, Pastor Cory P. Pariseau Sowing Seeds
April 2008 Thinking of sowing
into Crossroads World Christian Center Church? You've made a great decision that will positively affect many lives! Thank you for your support in God's ongoing work and your love and care for our community.
My name is Karen Hobor and I have known Pastor Cory Pariseau and have been involved with him in both Crossroads World Christian Center Church as a congregation member, as
well as in business, since early 2005. In business, I provide paid website services for Crossroads WCCC and the Parenting Pathways ministry; however I have been so touched
by the church and the good they do for the community that I, as a congregation member, normally donate upwards of 20
hours a month in web and non-web related administrative services, over and above what I receive compensation for.
When I first met Pastor Cory, I was overwhelmed by his drive and determination to maintain and personally fund what was
at the time, a new ministry, and soon a new church out of his own finances. As I came to know the Pastor, I became more
and more involved with the church and his vision for service to his fellow human beings, because I could see for myself
early on that he truly leans on the Lord in faith and follows the guidance he receives from Him with action – and the results blow me away! The growth that's occurred in this church over the last few short years is nothing short of a miracle in my opinion. The opening service of
Crossroads in August of 2005 was held at a newly built local school, but that didn't stop the enthusiasm of those who attended that day. Since that
time, I have seen the church and the congregation grow in grace and service at a rate that has never slowed. After the school was no longer an
option, services moved to a small garage facility, where again, the faithfulness and enthusiasm of the congregation was always there. Now
there's a beautiful church building for us to worship in, which we're well on our way to outgrowing. Each move has been a direct implementation of a
phased plan that Pastor Cory spelled out and believed in faith that God would provide – and He has. It's all been quite amazing, and proof to me that God covers this church.
I have seen this church touch the hearts and lives of both children and adults through the love and grace of God. Many
souls have been saved and several have even begun ministries within the covering of this church as a result of the
blessing and inspiration that they themselves have received. I have seen the church feed many hungry families, provide
utility assistance, shelter, spiritual direction and emotional support, encouragement, and transportation to vital
appointments and services for those in need (including all of the previously mentioned for a family of 8 at one point!),
and oh so much more. Further attesting to the sense of loving community that the church has helped to build, I've seen
individual congregation members step up to provide these same types of gifts out of their own limited means when the need arose and the church (or Pastor Pariseau himself) could not. Uniquely functional
among assistance related organizations in the way material and financial assistance is provided (with
encouragement to personal, financial, and family responsibility along with introduction and one on one exposure to the
incredible love and possibilities in life with God), this church brings something new to the table…and it's something that produces love, hope and life results in people like I've never seen before. Children who thought they didn't matter to anyone come and laugh and learn of God and that they are
loved. Even more important than learning about it, they feel it and want to let their own light shine as an example to others as a result. They receive the Word of
God along with a big helping of love with some joy, fun and treats thrown in several times a week at services, special events and studies. Often, they show up in droves, many times without an
accompanying adult, and it's obvious that the children's programs are filling a glaring gap in the community. They take weekend trips to the country in order to expose them to the crucial fact that there's
more out there in life for them than the gangs, drugs and violence that steal so many of them here in this city. They are afforded opportunities to tap into the quiet beauty of nature that only God
could create to draw the strength, revitalization and clarity it can bring a soul. They are encouraged to know that they can
make a difference in this world for the better and are exposed to people who prove that in their own lives. Soon, they will
also be able to use a computer lab and receive homework help, attention and activities in the upcoming after school and summer programs. (UPDATE: in the works, see the photos)
There have been plenty of financially hard times over the years, and they still come along, but the Lord always comes
through when there is a need in this church through the good works and assistance of angels like you. I believe that this is
because Pastor Cory proves his faith and devotion to God's law daily and continues to be a good steward of the gifts the Lord sees fit to provide.
I am truly blessed to be a part of this church, and look forward in faithful expectation to watching and participating in the
increased outpouring of love and service in the Lord that I know is even more plentifully to come in the future of this amazing church. In His Grace, Love and Service, Karen Sow a seed today! |
